 Young Researchers in Mathematics Conference
14th-16th April 2011 University of Warwick

Building on the success of the first two conferences held at Cambridge University in 2009 and 2010, the Young Researchers in Mathematics Conference (YRM) is moving to the University of Warwick in 2011. Organised and run entirely by PhD students, this is a conference for graduate students and postdocs who will provide most of the talks. There will also be contributions from a diverse range of distinguished guests. The talks will be divided broadly into algebra, algebraic geometry, analysis & PDEs, combinatorics, complexity, differential geometry, dynamical systems, financial maths, mathematical biology, mathsphys, number theory, statistics & probability, and topology. The deadline for registration is 14th January for those requesting accommodation, and 31st January otherwise. Registration is open. See go.warwick.ac.uk/YRM2011 for full details.

MJB received 2/11/2010:

Dear Ben and Martine,

I will use a half page YRM advert in the December issue. The dimensions will be roughly 18cm across and 12cm high.

Please find attached an advert with the image lightened in the background that I currently intend to print (with your permission). I'm sorry I can't produce anything more sophisticated, however, if you would prefer to send me another version of the image to use as a background then I can replace it.

Many Thanks and Kind Regards,

Rebecca

Building on the success of the first two conferences held at Cambridge University in 2009 and 2010, the Young Researchers in Mathematics Conference (YRM) is moving to the University of Warwick in 2011. Organised entirely by PhD students, this is a conference for doctoral and post-doctoral researchers, aiming to facilitate networking and collaboration between early career research mathematicians from different institutions. The main component of the conference will be student talks within parallel subject-specific tracks. Each track will also have a keynote talk.
The tracks and associated keynote speakers (subject to change) are:

Algebra - Martin Bridson (Oxford)
Algebraic Geometry - Burt Totaro (Cambridge)
Analysis & PDEs - John Ball (Oxford)
Combinatorics - Peter Cameron (Queen Mary)
Complexity - Jeff Johnson (Open University)
Differential Geometry - Nigel Hitchin (Oxford)
Dynamical Systems - Mary Rees (Liverpool)
Financial Mathematics - David Hand (Imperial)
Mathematical Biology - Raymond Goldstein (Cambridge)
MathsPhys - Sandra Chapman (Warwick)
Number Theory - Kevin Buzzard (Imperial)
Probability & Statistics - Saul Jacka (Warwick)
Topology - Caroline Series (Warwick)

The deadline for registration is 14th January for those requesting accommodation, and 31st January otherwise. Please visit our website at www.go.warwick.ac.uk/YRM2011 for further information and to register. For enquiries please contact the organisers at youngresearchersinmaths@gmail.com. The conference is supported in part by an LMS Conference grant.
