Hi Sophie,

An invoice for the advert you booked is attached. Please let me know if you would prefer this to be posted.
It would be most convenient if any advert you wanted us to print directly into the conference booklet could be sent by email (formatted as pdf, ps or eps) before the end of February. The advert would be printed in black and white.
Any information you would like to be included in the conference packs (that has already been printed) can be sent by post to the following address before the end of March:

Paul Chleboun

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards,

Paul Chleboun

Hi Sophie,

Thank you for your quick reply. Would you prefer the invoice by email or by post?

Could you please send us electronic copies of, or a link to, any logos that you would like to appear on our website and in the conference booklet.

We would appreciate it if you could send any brochures or leaflets for inclusion in the conference packs by post to the address below by the beginning of March. If you would prefer us to print an advert within the conference book instead we can do this but there may be an extra printing cost depending on the size. We are expecting around 200 delegates; exact numbers should be known by the end of February. If you would like this information passed on then please let us know.

There is currently still the opportunity to extend your commitment by including a manned or unmanned stand. Should you wish to do so please let us know as soon as possible.

Kind regards,
Paul

Dear [Find names, target people directly],

On behalf of the organising committee, I would like to invite [eg Springer] to provide sponsorship for the Young Researchers in Mathematics conference (YRM 2011). In return we will provide publicity for your organisation during the conference or arrange for one of your representatives to host a marketing stall in a prominent location during the conference. The conference is to be held at the University of Warwick Mathematics Institute and will occupy the main atrium from the 14th to the 16thof April 2011, giving you access to both conference delegates and researchers at the institute. Based on the previous years conferences we anticipate over 200 UK and international participants. The conference attracts doctoral students undertaking research across a broad range of mathematical disciplines as well as distinguished keynote speakers.

Your participation could be in the form of a manned or unmanned stand and advertisement within the conference packs. We intend the stands to be in a prime location where lunch and coffee breaks will be held. We are looking for contributions in the region of £500 for a manned stand and £200 for advertisement in the conference pack.

For further details on the conference please see the attached document.
The conference website is:
go.warwick.ac.uk/yrm2011

If you have any question or would like any further information please feel free to contact us by replying to this email.

Yours sincerely,

HEADING: Young Researchers in Mathematics 2011 conference

Young Researchers in Mathematics (YRM) 2011 is a 3-day conference run by and aimed at doctoral and post-doctoral researchers within the broad area of Mathematics.
The conference aims to facilitate networking and collaboration between early career research mathematicians from different institutions, forming working relationships which will persist into the future. The event will take place at Warwick Mathematics Institute on 14-16 April 2011. In bringing the conference to the University of Warwick, the current committee aims to establish this unique event within the mathematics research community.

The conference incorporates nine parallel subject-specific tracks, each allowing students to showcase and discuss their research in relevant seminars. All students will be encouraged to present their work in a formal setting. Furthermore, senior mathematicians will give both plenary talks and, within each track, keynote talks. The conference will therefore encompass a wide range of research topics, but in specialised settings. Building upon the success of YRM2010, we aim to attract approximately 200 young researchers from institutions across the UK and internationally. In line with Warwick's significant capacity in applied and applicable mathematics, we plan to devote 40% of the programme to these areas.

Our provisional plan for the conference is:
Thursday: introductions; tracks; dinner; plenary lecture; social event
Friday: tracks; lunch; tracks; plenary lecture; party
Saturday: tracks; lunch; cultural activity; farewells

Speakers who have already committed to giving a keynote talk are:
Prof. David Hand FBA (Imperial & Chief Scientific Advisor to Winton Capital Management), Prof. Nigel Hitchin (Oxford), Prof. Peter Cameron (Queen Mary, University of London), Prof. Burt Totaro FRS (Cambridge), Prof. Kevin Buzzard (Imperial), Sir John Ball FRS (Oxford), Prof. Mary Rees FRS (Liverpool), Prof. Saul Jacka (Warwick), Prof. Raymond Goldstein FInstP FIMA (Cambridge), Prof. Sandra Chapman FInstP (Warwick), Prof. Martin R. Bridson (Oxford), Prof. Jeff Johnson (Open) and Prof. Caroline Series (Warwick).

We have already begun actively promoting YRM2011. Our conference website (go.warwick.ac.uk/yrm2011) hasrecently gone live and registration has opened. Posters have been designed and distributed to all UK postgraduate mathematics departments along witha promotional email. We have made a mutual agreement with the organisers of the British Applied Mathematics Colloquium (BAMC) 2011 to promote each others meetings on our websites. A similar agreement with the British Mathematical Colloquium (BMC) 2011 is under negotiation.

In 2011, for the first time in YRM’s short, vibrant history, the conference will be held away from Cambridge University. We consider this a crucial step in establishing YRMas an institution-independent conference. Changing locations annually will allow for wider participation in all aspects of the conference, including its organisation. Providing more young researchers with the opportunity to take an organisational role will resource the mathematical community.

Warwick Mathematics Institute fully supports the conference and is providing valuable organisational assistance and advice. The conference is supported by the IMA, the LMS and Winton Capital.

We are very happy to offer you a manned stall (with opportunity to sell books and display promotional materials such as posters and banners) within the main foyer of the Mathematics department. Each delegate will receive a conference pack within which you may include promotional literature. We can also display your logo on our website and within the conference booklet.

Please see go.warwick.ac.uk/YRM2011 and youngresearchersinmaths.org for further information regarding the forthcoming and previous conferences.
