Scientific Writing
This is mainly a collection of links, relating to a session first run at Complexity DTC Annual Retreat 2008.
Ten headline tips from http://www.chillibreeze.com .
Linear guide to writing a paper (mild life sciences orientation) at http://www.sci.sdsu.edu/~smaloy/ .
A more extended source oriented to mathematical papers at http://www.maths.qmul.ac.uk/~fv/ . The file is a pdf with well chosen 'bookmarks': use that display option to find the chapters useful to you. I certainly recommend the first chapter "some writing tips", the beginning of the second, and most especially chapter 10 on "using other people's work". (The whole document is 163 pages, so think before you print.)
