Warwick Kickstart hosted its annual flagship event, the Careers of the Future fair on the 13th March 2023

Warwick Kickstart hosted its annual flagship event, the Careers of the Future fair on the 13th March 2023, in collaboration with WBS and Warwick Enterprise. The event took place at one of London’s most iconic locations - The Shard.

The event started off with leading startups and venture capitalists advertising their company mission and career opportunities. The cohort of companies was extremely diverse, ranging from digital marketing to augmented reality, and biotechnology to asset management. The start-ups and companies included Nucleate, Hundo, Y24 and Mercia. Prominent venture capitalists and venture builders like Blenheim Chalcot, Baby VC and Octopus Ventures were also present along with student-focused venture capitalists and accelerator programmes like Kickstart Global and Initiator VC. A home-grown Warwick start-up - Woodstock Haus was also in attendance.

The attendees then enjoyed gourmet lunch alongside the spectacular views of the River Thames from the 17th Floor of The Shard.

In the afternoon, delegates moved on to a stimulating panel discussion, the Healthcare Innovation Panel, where experts from health tech start-ups, healthcare investment banking and global consultancies talked about the disruption caused by data and the future of the industry.

The event closed with start-up pitches from Warwick students, currently building their own ventures at the University, to a panel of angel investors and leading venture capitalists from London’s Innvotec and Shackleton Ventures. The panel heard from a diverse range of student start-ups at Warwick ranging from metaverse experiences, AI-led job application software, and bilingual video production to specialised grocery supply-chain managers.

The event was lauded by the attendees and played a great role in solidifying the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Warwick.
