Professional Development Award: User-involvement and Partnership working in Health and Social Care

UNTRAP (University User Teaching and Research Action Partnership) and the University offer an accredited training programme to prepare service-users, carers and professionals for partnership working in teaching, governance and research. The course equips participants and managers with the confidence, knowledge and skills to engage in and influence:
  • research development and delivery
  • professional education and development
  • shared decision making in health, social care and higher education.

The course consists of 6 full day workshops, which cover various aspects of user-involvement and partnership working in health and social work:

It is also possible to attend module 1-5 on a stand-alone basis.

On completing the course, participants receive a Level 3 or Level 4 ‘User Involvement in Teaching and Research Professional Development Award’ through the Centre for LifeLong Learning at the University of Warwick. The award has 10 credit points. Stand- alone modules do not carry accreditation, but a certificate is issued

The course is facilitated by academics and members of UNTRAP. It uses inter-active teaching methods and encourages discussions based on the experiences of course participants. Support is provided throughout the course.

The price for attending the course is £500 for all six modules/£100 per individual module
