Inclusive Structures and Care-Rooted Approaches -Aims

As part of our Strategy, IATL is committed to lead on the creation of Inclusive Structures and Care-Rooted approaches.
To achieve our ambitious goals in this area, we have outlined key commitments:

To develop, evaluate and disseminate care-rooted pedagogic approaches and strategies that support staff and student wellbeing in the classroom and beyond.

To create, trial and promote inclusive pedagogic practices.

To provide a framework (e.g., principles, guidelines, etc.) to intentionally consider how departmental policies and procedures impact the physical, social, and metal wellbeing of departmental staff and students, to be used when revisiting existing and creating new policies and procedures.

To explore and evaluate the deployment of compassionate leadership within higher education departmental settings, recording barriers and challenges.

To identify issues with and to support the adequate recognition of all staff members, independently by their status (i.e., teaching staff, third-space professionals, administrative staff, etc.) and seniority.
