Example Projects

The Institute welcomes students with their own project ideas in areas of expertise of Warwick academic staff. Supervisors will also suggest potential projects which range from a broad area with the details to be developed by the student and supervisors, to more specified projects available to a student with skills and interests to match these. The following are examples of projects of interest to the academics involved in the IGPP.

Examples of broad project areas available for PhD project development

  • Modelling the impact of behavioural responses to non pharmaceutical interventions for the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Development of novel viral diagnostic assays to detect and quantify SARS-CoV-2 in clinical samples.
  • Building the responsiveness and resilience of primary care serving disadvantaged communities in low and middle income countries in the face of pandemics: balancing changing infection risk with need for healthcare access
