Student Impact
The student voice is your voice and it's incredibly important to us. It's formed of your thoughts, views and feedback throughout your time at Chemistry and at Warwick, at every step of your journey and covering all aspects of student life - from your first day through to graduation and beyond! You'll find resources on this page to help you find your voice: ways to be heard, get involved and make a positive difference to the Chemistry community. As well as the institution wide Student Union, you also have student representation in the form of the Staff Student Liaison Committee (SSLC) which is an integral part of ensuring you're involved in important consultations regarding your learning experiences, as well as other initiatives we've introduced into the community.
We encourage you to explore the resources below and engage with us. Remember that when you respond to a social media post or a request to fill out a module evaluation forms, you're feeding back about your personal experience, and helping to shape the learning journey for you and others.

Tom and Adam - The Chemistry Student Experience Team
SSLC
Our SSLC is a committee made up of elected student course reps, and members of staff.
It provides an accessible arena for students to discuss - with staff - issues connected to teaching, learning and student support. It also provides an opportunity for the department to consult with you and receive feedback on new proposals. Bubbling Up
Bubbling Up is where we share wellbeing stories and experiences, and by doing so address wellbeing challenges arising from studying and working in the Department of Chemistry. Through our collective voices and short blogs, our mission is to create a positive, kind study and workplace environment and a safe space for wellbeing conversations and contemplation. We strive to build a community where wellbeing is a shared value and responsibility and where we treat everyone and every voice with respect.
Virtual Common Room (VCR)
The Virtual Common Room (VCR) is a safe space that provides you access to the Chemistry student community hosted on MS Teams. This an inclusive and open space where everyone can voice their concerns, express themselves, learn and have fun. The VCR is integral to Student Voice, so do please get involved: feel free to reply and react to posts and post any interesting ideas or content that you'd like to share in the most appropriate channel. Lab Chat Newsletter
Lab Chat is your Chemistry newsletter. We send this every fortnight throughout term and it contains all the latest news, events and opportunities available to you. Delivered directly to your Warwick e-mail inbox, make sure you regularly check its contents.

ChemSoc
ChemSoc: home to chemists, non-chemists, undergraduates and postgraduates from all walks of life at the University of Warwick whose aim is to help students interested in chemistry to achieve their full potential.
Their mentoring scheme helps first year students settle into life at university and they hold regular socials which are great for having a break from studying every once in a while. They are now one of the largest and active societies on campus and they're looking forward to welcoming you to the community!
Warwick Black Chemistry Society
The Warwick Black Chemistry Society is a student led initiative that has been set up to provide a community-based platform for black Chemistry students to socially interact with each other as well as foster meaningful relationships and networking opportunities. The society will also serve as a safe space for our black students to discuss their day-to-day experiences or challenges and ensure their opinions are sufficiently amplified within the department.

We have lots of other student voice initiatives that you can get involved with. We have student bloggers who blog about all aspects of life at Warwick and as a Chemistry student, you can read their blogs here. If you’re interested in blogging, then ask us about current opportunities. Our Student Social Media Officer writes articles for our LinkedIn page, give us a follow and read the articles here.
We also have our Chinese Student Experience Project which is a learning experience project that envisions enhancing the experience of Chinese students, particularly those in their first year.
