Wind Turbine meeting & Hexayurt/Geodome workshop

On Tuesday 30th October at 6pm, there will be an open meeting in the Engineering common room to discuss the EWB wind turbine. The wind turbine needs some serious maintenance and we want to open the floor to proposals on how best to do this. After the meeting we will be going to a drink and some food in the Dirty Duck.

EWB Project

Welcome back to Engineers Without Borders Warwick!

Each year we try to run a project on campus over the course of a year that will leave a lasting legacy on campus. The most successful of these has been the wind turbine built 2 years ago, which contributes to the university grid.

If you are interested in being involved in the project this year, but missed the meeting on Monday, then email Ben Wen: B.Wen@warwick.ac.uk

Building a Hexayurt

EWB Warwick is building a Hexayurt!!

The Hexayurt is a simplified disaster relief shelter design. It is based on a geodesic geometry adapted to construction from standard 4x8 foot sheets of factory made construction material. It resembles a panel yurt, hence the name.

The hexayurt we will be building is a reconstruction from last year's workshop, it provided a (hopefully) comfortable place for sleep for many EWB members last year!

So come along and help building the hexyurt at 2pm at Piazza on Wednesday.

Also in attendance are members from an organisation called Transition Town Leamington, which is an organisation looking in to sustainable adaptations to change Leamington Spa.
