Year 2 Options Talk for First Years
Hey all, the Engineering Society will be in the new common room at 6pm on Thursday evening so that first years can chat with second years about their module choices for next year. This is an opportunity that as a second year I really wished I'd had, so hopefully it'll be a great opportunity!
On a related note we still need representatives from languages so if any 2nd years who did languages as an option this year are free, we'd appreciate you coming and helping out!
The evening should last an hour or so, so feel free to pop in any time between 6pm and 7pm!
Victory at the NEC
At the National Engineering and Construction Event at the NEC, a competition was held to see which University had the best engineers. The contest was split into two events:
1) Design a propellor for a car to pull it down a wind tunnel in the fastest time.
2) Design a cantilever beam to support the maximum possible weight.
It was a gruelling competition, but in the end Warwick's 2 teams managed 1st and 2nd out of 12 entrants, winning £750 and £250 respectively.
Well done guys!
Warwick Engineers head to Engineering Recruitment Fair
The Engineering Society is planning on heading to the Birmingham NEC tomorrow for the National Engineering and Construction Recruitment Event. If anyone wants to join us, meet us at Coventry Train Station at 10:50AM tomorrow (Saturday) morning!!
Its well worth going to, hope to see you all there!
