2019-20 Overview
Successful completion of last year's Critical Design Review with our partners Airbus (CDR DocumentLink opens in a new window) led directly to a major development with the 2019-20 team presenting WUSAT-3 to a European Space Agency workshop at ESTECLink opens in a new window (Netherlands). The team worked on refining all aspects of WUSAT-3 subsystems and particularly the documentation and knowledge presented in our Space Systems Engineering documentation. This can be seen in the documents presented below.

WUSAT-3 ESA Workshop Outcomes
The WUSAT-3 mission was generally well received by the ESA panel, but - as expected (and desired!) - the panel provided critical feedback on a number of areas that required clarification and further development. For us, this was the benefit of working within the ESA system - they make it tough, but at least the team know exactly what is required. Areas for particular development to make WUSAT-3 suitable for entry to ESA's FYS launch programme, included,
- Status and justification of some design decisions involving,
- ADCS (Attitude Determination Control Systems), OBDH (On-Board Data Handling), Power Subsystem, Communications & TTC antenna, Ground Segment arrangements.
- A request was also made for more information regarding the method of providing geolocation of the RFID signal via the client payload method.
Detailed response was returned on the above requests, including more information on the geolocation concept of Roke's RFID system.
