Background

Dr Xing Luo joined the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick in March 2011. He received the B.Eng. degree in Electronic Information Engineering from Xi’an University of Technology, China, in 2004, and the M.Sc. degree in Microelectronic Systems and Telecommunications with a distinction from the University of Liverpool, U.K., in 2006. And his M.Sc. project was to investigate a nonlinear control strategy for a homogenous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine. He received the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electronic , Electrical and Computer Engineering, the University of Birmingham, U.K., in 2010. His Ph.D. project was related to recycle exhaust compressed air energy by the scroll air motor/expander technology and efficient control strategy. He is currently working toward to one EPSRC project related to a novel pneumatic actuator development. He has published some conference papers and journal papers and gained one best paper awards.

Research interests

1. Simulation modelling of pneumatic systems, vehicle engine systems, electric motors and the related model validations

2. The practical real-time controller design, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation

3. Interest in wind power generation systems and compressed air storage technology
