Andrew Cruden received a B.Eng. Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, a M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering, and a Ph.D. Degree in the field of optical current sensing from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. He has been a member of academic staff at the University of Southampton since July 2012 and previously held a position of Reader within the Renewable Technology Group at the University of Strathclyde. His current research interests are: electrical energy storage, including investigation of vehicle-to-grid energy storage of aggregated electric vehicles; wind turbine condition monitoring; continuously variable transmissions for electric vehicles using magnetic gears. He has published over 100 journal and conference papers.
