Evangeline Wheeler-Jones

I am currently in the masters year of MAS CDT, modules covered include: Principles of Analytical Chemistry, Microscopy, Statistics, Electrochemistry, NMR, Computational Modelling and Molecular Modelling.

My research interests are focused around materials analysis for energy applications.

My Mini Project topics are as follows:

  • MP1- Organic Surface Passivation for Characterisation of Silicon for High Efficiency Photovoltaic Cells
  • MP2- Analysis of Nanostructured Oxides using Advanced Xray Scattering Methods

Academic Background

Graduated with a Upper Second Class BSc in Chemistry with honours from the University of Warwick in July 2016.

Modules covered include: Core Organic, Inorganic, Physical and Laboratory chemistry, Solid State, Electrochemistry, Energy, Molecular Dynamics and Teaching chemistry at Secondary School Level.

I completed a Summer Research Project in the Electrochemical Engineering Department of WMG, in summer 2016, details can be found here.

Outreach

This year I hold the position of outreach officer for the Chemistry Society here at Warwick. For this I organise visits to local schools where we run lessons, workshops and demos for the students. The aim of this is to give the students a master experience and potentially encourage their interest in science.
