How to apply

Important Information regarding 2019 entry

EPSRC is in the process of allocating funding for 2019 entry onwards. We anticipate starting to recruit in December 2018 when the outcome of the funding allocation process is known.

If you would like further information about the course and to register your interest at this stage please complete this form.

We welcome students with a first degree in Chemistry, Physics, Maths, statistics, Engineering, Life Sciences, Forensics, Biochemistry. Usually you must have, or be expecting to obtain a 2:i or 1st class degree.

There are two ways to apply:

  1. Register your interest with us and upload your CV. We will then contact you to arrange an informal interview and visit to the department. If you are successful at interview you can then apply through the central PG admissions system (cost of £50 which we can refund). Funding and Fee decisions are awarded by the department not the central admissions team so you would hear from us directly about the studentship.
  2. Apply through the central PG admissions system directly (there is a cost of £50 which we can refund if you are successful).
To apply to study the MAS 1yr + 3yrs: MSc + PhD degree, please choose the following options:
    Department: Chemistry
    Course type: Taught
select P-F1PL - MSc Molecular Analytical Science.
Please note that by applying for this you are automatically applying for the CDT course MSc + PhD unless you state on your form that you only wish to complete the MSc.
More information about the central application process is available on the PG Admissions website.
