MILESTONE

MILESTONE is a project that aims to understand and improve transition of care from CAMHS to AMHS for young people across different healthcare systems in Europe. The funds awarded from the WQBP PE fund were used to run three ‘Ideas Cafes’, two hour interactive workshops, with a wide range of different stakeholders including mental health practitioners, service commissioners, young people and parents and carers. At these events, we presented three new short films made through the MILESTONE project. These illustrate the experience of transition between different mental health services from different perspectives and our aim was to get feedback on how to refine the films and which audiences they would be most suitable for in a wider roll-out. The Ideas Cafes provided an invaluable opportunity for the MILESTONE research team to engage with new public audiences, and to build new networks, for disseminating our study findings. Through these meetings, we were able share some of our resources which we hope they and others will be able to use in the future to explain, in accessible and creative ways, why transition in mental health services needs to be improved.
