Joint Conference with Cross-Disciplinary Interface DTCs, 22-23 July 2010

There will be a joint conference, at the University of Warwick, for all DTCs funded by the EPSRC Cross-Disciplinary Interface Panel.

The aim of this conference is to bring together students in their second year of doctoral research from all fourteen EPSRC-funded doctoral training centres, giving them the opportunity to present their research (as a poster) and network with their peers from around the country. There will be short presentations by each DTC and talks from invited speakers.

The conference will run from Thursday 22nd to Friday 23rd July.
It will be hosted by the University of Warwick DTCs and will start with lunch on 22nd in the Zeeman Building (Mathematics Institute - see map).

The EPSRC considers attendance to be COMPULSORY for students in the second year of their PhD research project. As no conference was run last year, students in the third year of their PhD project may attend if they wish. Due to space and financial constraints there are only a limited number of places available for third year PhD students, so these will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Meals and accommodation will be provided.

If you wish to attend please register on the registration form. If you wish to have accommodation provided please tick the appropriate box. EPSRC will pay for your accommodation, but if you book a room and then do not use it your DTC will be charged the cost unless you have a life-and-death reason for not coming.

Posters and DTC Presentations:
Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a poster presentation of their research with them - you will be asked to provide a title and short description during registration. Posters should be A1 in size. Each DTC will also prepare a 10 minute presentation about their work, for example giving a short summary of key student research areas. However, how you use your time to advertise your DTC is up to you!

This year the conference is being jointly organised by Warwick and Imperial DTCs. Please don't hesitate to contact the organising committee with any questions, comments or suggestions; this can be done via the 'page contact' link at the bottom of this page.
