External signs are that our Coventry house is on the market - the For Sale sign went up this week and we are on the RightMove web site. Internally we are making progress - the nice British Heart Foundation man recovered from his shock of seeing 27 bags of books rather than the expected 1 and managed to get them and the ornaments and the games into his already fairly full van. Carriers of Hope always make me feel such a wonderful person for giving them my junk clothes, household items and furniture - which as often as not is already at least second hand. Coventry waste recycling centre (or whatever their posh name is these days) have a special tool shed from which tools get sent to Tools with a Mission. They got a car-ful from us - including many belonging to Mr Robinson from whom we bought the house 18 years ago. Mark's teenage collection of lamps got checked out by the Lamp Society for anything of real value and then sent to a local charity shop. Despite this - to the untrained eye the house probably looks no different! We have an open house on Saturday afternoon which is a deadline for everything looking presentable. The garden thankfully still looks good from the earlier efforts of our church friends with only minor repair work needed. I have painted the window sills etc. that Mark got repaired a few months ago and painted our shower room (yet again - what a saga: don't use mould-free paint as I found that, while it doesn't grow mould, neither does it stick to the walls or ceiling ...). And at the other end of the world we finally completed on our house in Sydney - the vendors' bank this week deigned to organise themselves to have the mortgage paid off by the vendors. So our mortgage-free occupancy of the house has ended and I am therefore very keen to sell Coventry! 6 bedroom house in convenient attractive location.....
