We use a rigorous scientific approach to study the human mind, brain and behaviour.

Research is carried out by three distinctive but cross-disciplinary groups:

Applying the core principles of cognitive psychology, we explore how people come to make the important decisions in their everyday lives.

Cognitive factors involved in the successful mastery of language and learning, and applying the language research to the classroom.

With the latest facilities including our Driving Simulator we carry out:

  • field experiments
  • large longitudinal epidemiological studies
  • experimental psychology
  • cognitive research
  • quantitative and qualitative research
  • mathematical modelling including the use of network analyses, statistical bootstrapping, and computational simulations.
