To investigate the links between product design decisions and their impact on both the supply chain and the triple bottom line (TBL). To understand how companies can align product design with supply chain to enhance TBL performance.
The Outcome
The results highlighted a number of product design and supply chain practices that can impact TBL performance. The framework developed may be used as a tool to determine whether a project should proceed or not by highlighting the impact such introductions may have on the supply chain in addition to the resulting TBL performance.
