Frequently Asked Questions
This page contains frequently asked questions from students applying for the WMG internships. If you have a question not listed here, please contact Dr Freeha Azmat, F.Azmat.1@warwick.ac.uk
I am a male student, can I apply for these internships?
The IAPER scheme is targeted at undergraduate and postgraduate students who identify as female, due to the under-representation of this group in engineering research careers currently. The WMG Summer Internship Scheme will be open to all undergraduate students later this year, with very similar projects.
Do I have to be on Campus to participate in the internships?
We have a mix of projects that can be completed either remotely or are lab/office -based and require the intern to be present on campus during the project.
It should be clear in most cases from the project description as to whether the project requires attendance in a lab or office, but please contact the supervisor to confirm if required.
Can I apply for more than one project?
Yes, it is possible to apply for more than one internship project from the list. It is suggested however, to not take a broad-brush approach and apply for many projects. Rather, choose the ones that you are genuinely interested in and focus on putting in a good quality application to those projects.
Can I propose a project?
No, only the listed projects can be applied for. You may discuss with the supervisor if there's some flexibility in the direction or requirements of the project listed.
I am a Masters student, can I apply for a project?
The IAPER scheme is open to both postgraduate taught (Masters) and undergraduate students.
