MADE Project Launch – Research Findings & Launch Recording Now Available
On 28th February 2025, the Mitigation and Adjustment for Doctoral Education (MADE) project team hosted an online event to officially launch the final project report. The event brought together 77 colleagues from the UK and abroad, providing an overview of the research, key findings, and recommendations.
The MADE project, conducted within the Doctoral Education and Academia Research Centre (DEAR) at the University of Warwick, explores the complexities of reasonable adjustments and mitigating circumstances in doctoral education. It highlights how Postgraduate Research (PGR) students often face unique challenges that existing policies, designed primarily for undergraduate and postgraduate taught (PGT) students, may not adequately address. The project proposes a series of recommendations to enhance inclusivity, equity, and support for doctoral researchers.
