WAHEI Project Showcased at Diary Method Community Event

On Tuesday 8 April 2025, the Diary Method Community hosted a special online event titled “Tracing new ground for diary method? Perspectives on using diary method in the multi-team, transnational WAHEI project.”

Facilitated by Professor Emily F. Henderson (Director of the DEAR Centre and Co-Convenor of the Diary Method Community), the event explored the innovative use of diary method in the WAHEI (Widening Access to Higher Education in India) project—a 4-year UK-India collaboration tracking faculty outreach activities across six Indian states.

Speakers included:

· Prof. Emily F. Henderson, University of Warwick, UK

· Dr Nidhi S. Sabharwal, NIEPA, India

· S. Arokia Mary, University of Warwick / Central University of Kashmir

· Prof. Polly Vauquline, Gauhati University, Assam

· Prof. Rajeshwari and Dr Kanwaljeet Virdi, Kurukshetra University and KVA DAV College, Haryana

The session provided rare insights into the design and implementation of a large-scale, multi-sited diary study—an approach rarely attempted at this scale—and invited researchers to rethink what’s possible with diary methods.
