DEAR hosts seminar to celebrate the conclusion of the "Understanding Global Education and International Development" module
In December 2025, the DEAR Centre hosted a seminar marking the conclusion of the PGT module EQ923 "Understanding Global Education and International Development". The seminar picked up some of the key theoretical perspectives and cross-cutting themes of the module.
The speakers for the event were:
- Christine Olando, Commonwealth PhD Scholar, Warwick Law School speaking on: 'The Right to Higher Education and Certification: A case study of the Provision of Higher Education in Kenya in the Law Discipline.
- DEAR Centre Director Prof. Emily Henderson whose presentation was titled: ‘Just call yourself a centre’: Unpacking the founding moments of research centres.
- Prof Pauline Reynolds, professor of Leadership and Higher Education from the University of Redlands USA whose presentation is titled: 'Negotiating the fridge? Women higher education professors in comic books'
