Professor Emily Henderson Presents DEAR Centre’s Work at Research England Team Meeting
On 12th March 2025, Professor Emily Henderson was invited by Steven HillLink opens in a new window, Director of Research at Research England, to present at a Research England team meeting on the work of the Doctoral Education and Academia Research Centre (DEAR). This invitation followed Professor Henderson’s participation in Research England’s visit to Warwick in December 2023.
In her presentation, Professor Henderson provided an in-depth introduction to DEAR, highlighting:
· DEAR’s Specialism in Doctoral Education and the Academic Profession – positioning the Centre as a leading hub for research in this field.
· Strategic Aims – including the development of a dynamic specialist research environment for investigating doctoral education and academia.
· Thematic Areas – focusing on research culture and futures, methodological innovation, and institutional policies.
· Current Research and Projects – exploring key areas of doctoral education and professional academic work.
The hybrid meeting brought together 20-25 members of Research England, including the Executive Chair.
