Many congratulations to Mark Pulsford and Rebecca Morris who, along with Ross Purves, have edited a new publication, Understanding Education Studies. With contributions from lecturers, tutors, current students and recent graduates, it has 24 chapters written by nearly 60 authors from 20 different institutions in five different countries.

The four sections of the book focus on:

• Positioning Education Studies.
• Practices and Pedagogies of Education Studies.
• Challenge and Change in Education Studies.
• The Personal and Professional in Education Studies.

The chapters offer opportunities for readers to consider their own learning experiences in a wider context, enhance their understanding of the degree course and actively shape the education studies community of the future.
