Launch of the Post-16 GCSE Resit Hub
This week saw the launch of the new GCSE Resit Hub, based in the Department of Education Studies. The Hub is part of a new project which aims to understand and tackle some of the challenges associated with post-16 GCSE resits in English and Maths.
This work follows up from our recent review of GCSE resits, funded by the EEF (link to report here). The findings from the review point to some excellent practice happening across post-16 contexts, but also some of the challenges that the sector is facing too.
The Hub will involve close collaboration with post-16 teachers, leaders, sector organisations and policymakers. We are also partnering with the Association of Colleges and the Centre for Education and Youth (CfEY) The three phases of the work include:
a) resource and toolkit development,
b) a series of professional development workshops,
c) policy engagement.
If any colleagues are interested in finding out more about our work on post-16 GCSE resits in English and Maths, please do get in touch.
