Dr Emily Henderson Renews Collaboration with University of the Free State, South Africa

Dr Emily Henderson joined the SARChI Chair Higher Education and Human Development Research Programme at University of the Free State, South Africa, on a funded institutional visit for a week in September 2018. Dr Henderson was affiliated with the programme during her doctoral studies at UCL Institute of Education, and was recently invited to attend a week of activities to renew the collaboration. During the visit, Dr Henderson acted as discussant for an international colloquium, delivered a workshop on intersectionality for students and postdoctoral fellows in the programme, and attended meetings to further discuss collaboration with Professor Melanie Walker and Dr Mikateko Höppener.

Dr Abdullah Sahin comments on the Danish 'burqa ban'

“What we urgently need is to encourage ways of restoring mutual trust amongst the communities that make up our shared society by showing a firm commitment to the values of responsibly living with one another. We have a better chance to form a peaceful coexistence if we respect the dignity of difference and recognize the reality of our interdependence”.
