Dr Emily Henderson Renews Collaboration with University of the Free State, South Africa
Dr Emily Henderson joined the SARChI Chair Higher Education and Human Development Research Programme at University of the Free State, South Africa, on a funded institutional visit for a week in September 2018. Dr Henderson was affiliated with the programme during her doctoral studies at UCL Institute of Education, and was recently invited to attend a week of activities to renew the collaboration. During the visit, Dr Henderson acted as discussant for an international colloquium, delivered a workshop on intersectionality for students and postdoctoral fellows in the programme, and attended meetings to further discuss collaboration with Professor Melanie Walker and Dr Mikateko Höppener.
Scholarship deadline extended for MA GEID

Five valuable scholarships will be awarded for the 2018/19 intake up to the value of GBP£10,000 each (to contribute towards fees)
Eligibility: To be eligible for an award, applicants should be outstanding students and permanent residents of the Hong Kong. The scholarship is open to new entrants to the University of Warwick starting in October 2018. Continuing students and those already holding an MA/MSc are not eligible to apply. Candidates are required to have applied to the Global Education and International Development MA programme and received an offer of a place from the University of Warwick.

Dr Emily Henderson elected to the Governing Council of SRHE
CES is very pleased to announce that Dr Emily Henderson has been elected as a Member of the Governing Council of SRHE (Society for Research into Higher Education), from 8th March 2018 to 31st December 2020. This is a prestigious role which includes setting the Society’s objectives and steering these through.

Call for Papers for a Guest-Edited Special Issue of 'Gender and Education' Journal
The esteemed journal Gender and Education has just released the call for papers for a new guest edited special issue, edited by CES Assistant Professor Emily Henderson, and Dr James Burford from Thammasat University in Thailand. The special issue is entitled "Thoughtful gatherings: gendering conferences as spaces of learning, knowledge production and community", and the call for papers can be accessed here.
