New Research Publication- Paul Martin, PhD Student

We are pleased to share a new article published by the Times Education Supplement, from one of our current PhD students, Paul Martin. Paul's research looks at the impact that socio-economic disadvantage has on student's progression through education. Paul's research is being supervised by Professor Emma Smith, Head of Department.


Graduate Outcomes Survey - 2018/19

We are delighted to share that the 2018/19 Graduate Outcomes Survey has found that 96% of our Postgraduate Taught graduates were in graduate level work after completing their studies. Congratulations to our alumni on their achievements.

New Article Published - Dr Georgiana Mihut

We are happy to share the news that Dr Georgiana Mihut has had an article published in the Oxford Review of Education alongside Dr Selina McCoy and Bertrand Maitre: A capability approach to understanding academic and socio-emotional outcomes of students with special educational needs in Ireland. Student Success- Institute of Advanced Study Early Career Fellowship for Eli Gemegah

We are delighted to announce that Eli Gemegah, an ESRC-funded PhD researcher in the Education Studies department (working with Dimitra Hartas) has been awarded an Institute of Advanced Study Early Career Fellowship to support her transition beyond doctoral studies. Eli will be presenting in the seminar series this year so you can find out more about her exciting research then.

New Journal Publication - Dr Emily Henderson and Ahmad Akkad

We are pleased to note the new co-authored publication from Dr Emily Henderson and Ahmad Akkad, one of our PhD students, published in the Teaching in Higher Education Journal. The article, entitled 'Exploring the role of HE teachers as change agents in the reconstruction of post-conflict Syria', is based on Ahmad's MA Global Education and International Development dissertation work, and can be viewed online.
