Dr Michael Wyness is being funded by Lloyds Foundation to explore the educational needs of young refugees in Coventry
Michael's research is part of a broader focus on services and educational support available to young refugees. The project is entitled Positive Youth Foundation and the Educational and Service Needs of Young Refugees: An Applied Study The research is a pilot programme to monitor and support the educational transitions of refugee Young People. Working alongside a Coventry based youth organisation, Positive youth Foundation, the aims of the research are to develop an assessment tool for identifying the educational needs of teenage refugees; and to to track small groups of young refugees as they move into further education.
Expert Comment: Dr Abdullah Sahin on the London Islamic Centre attack
Dr Abdullah Sahin, expert in Islamic Education in the Centre for Education Studies, comments on the car attack outside an Islamic Centre in north London during a time of spiritual significance in both the Islamic and Hebrew calendars.
