Research in Neurodiversity Affirmative Educational Psychology (RINAED)
The Research in Neurodiversity Affirmative Educational Psychology (RINAED) Cluster draws on a multi-disciplinary neurodiversity-affirmative approach and aims by bringing together academics, researchers, students, children/ young people, families, professionals, school communities and third-sector organisations to:
- To showcase and promote the internationally recognised research and expertise in DES concerning advancing and meeting the educational and mental health needs of neurodivergent and neurotypical children and young people and their families. ·
- To develop methodologies and dialogue through co-production of research proposals/ projects with children and young people, families, professionals, and school communities. ·
- To develop, local, national, and international partnerships with school communities and third-sector organisations
Research subject areas/ methodologies: ·
- Advancing and meeting the educational and mental health needs of neurodivergent and neurotypical children and young people through applied research.
- Mental health and wellbeing of children, young people, education professionals and their social determinants. ·
- The effect of educational transitions on children’s and young peoples’ educational and mental health outcomes.
- Parenting, educational aspirations and the achievement gap. ·
- Innovative methodologies through the use of secondary data (National, longitudinal datasets)
