Warwick Observatory for Social Mobility Inaugural Conference
An international audience was in situ to see the Warwick Observatory for Social Mobility (WOfSM) host its inaugural conference (13th July 2015), with staff and students from the University of Michigan’s Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education engaging in discussion around the theme of ‘International Perspectives on Access and Widening Participation’.
Speakers included Director of the Centre for Education Studies Ian Abbott (below), Senior Assistant Registrar for Outreach Paul Blagburn, and Professor Robin Naylor (above and far below) and Dr Claire Crawford from the Department of Economics.
The Warwick Observatory for Social Mobility was established to act as an international centre of expertise in the development of evaluation and impact measures for social mobility, widening participation and access. Members include Professor Christina Hughes, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) - who acts as Director of the Observatory - plus a group of academic and administrative staff drawn from across the University who have an interest in social mobility.
