Fatima Alhaj Hasan
PhD Student
Fatima Alhaj Hasan is a PhD candidate in Education Studies at the University of Warwick. Her research explores conflict between academics in Syrian higher education institutions, which contributes to a deeper understanding of the academic profession, particularly through exploring the power dynamics and institutional structures that shape interactions within this profession. She holds a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and a BA in English Literature and Speech Communication. Fatima has extensive experience as an ESOL instructor and lecturer in Syrian universities and previously worked as a Postgraduate Research Development Officer at Warwick. Currently, Fatima is contributing to critical research on educational initiatives in her role as a Research Assistant on the Warwick PATHWAY Programme Evaluation Project. She is also a Graduate Teaching Assistant, providing academic support and dissertation supervision to students in Education Studies. Fatima is passionate about advancing understanding of academic life in Syria and contributing to global conversations on higher education.
