Completion of the Professional Skills tests are no longer a DfE requirement for entry onto an Initial Teacher Training Programme. However, we are still required to ensure that a trainee teacher has demonstrated ‘Secure’ understanding of fundamental Literacy and Numeracy skills by the time they have completed the PGCE.

With that said, we will now be asking you to determine at the point of offer, where an applicant has demonstrated ‘Secure’ understanding, or whether they require help and support to improve.
