Congratulations to CJC member Anastasia Chamberlen on winning the British Society of Criminology Book Award 2019
Anastasia Chamberlen (Warwick Sociology) has been awarded the prestigious BSC Book Award for her book Embodying Punishment: Emotions, Identities and Lived Experiences in Women's Prisons.

The October Prize Draw is for the OUP book ‘Criminology’, edited by BSC members Steve Case, Phil Johnson, David Manlow, Roger Smith, and Kate Williams. Thanks to OUP the British Society of Criminology (BSC) has TWO copies to give away. To enter please email info@britsoccrim.org with ‘Prize Draw – October’ in the subject line. The closing date is 31 October 2017. The draw will be made 1 November 2017. All entries are checked as being BSC members and then drawn randomly. We only contact the winner directly. A conference titled "Being There: Ethnography and the Study of Policing" is scheduled to be held on 18-19 January 2018 at the University of Liverpool. Organised by the Police Ethnography Research Collaboration with the International Criminological Research Unit, this will be an opportunity for dialogue about the value of ethnographic approaches for enhancing our understanding of policing.
