Brentford Football Club works with the Say My Name campaign
Ahead of kick-off for Brentrord FC's hashtag NoRoomForRacism fixture against Ipswich Town in October 2024, Brentford players wore warm-up shirts featuring the phonetic spelling of their names.
The club worked with Professor Jane Bryan, Warwick, as part of the Say My Name project. The research found that respectful interactions around names, such as correct pronunciation and learning about names' meanings and stories, can help create more inclusive communities.
