Ioanna Mousikou is a final year Education Studies student exploring the effect that mispronouncing cultural names can have on students within higher education.

Ioanna shares: "I aim to develop a deeper understanding of the effects that naming practises can have on University students, and then consider solutions to tackling this issue. I will be using a mixed methods approach, including questionnaires and semi-structured focus group interviews to develop these ideas. I developed this project out of interest, due to my personal experiences of this issue. After delving into some research papers, I realised that this topic has very limited research, which further encouraged me to complete my dissertation around this issue."

Ioanna's supervisor is Dr. Rebecca Morris (Assistant Professor).
