I-PEEL: Living Through the COVID-19 Pandemic

Overview

Welcome to The International Political Economy of Everyday Life (I-PEEL): Living Through the Covid-19 Pandemic project!

Project aims:

In this project you will engage and develop the I-PEEL approach by studying the intersections of your daily experiences of Covid-19 with the broader contours of the global political economy. You will team up with a student from Monash University and jointly co-author a 1500-word essay to be submitted for peer review and publication to the Reinvention journal.

Project milestones:

There will be seven milestones to complete the project.

1. Announcement of project teams and academic mentors. On 24 February, you will receive an email from us with the details of your collaboration partner at Monash University. This will give you the opportunity to get in touch, exchange ideas, and jointly discuss the topics you would like to write about. You will also be assigned an academic mentor from the I-PEEL team.

2. First Workshop: On Thursday, 9 March 2023, we will kickstart the project with our first workshop, held on Zoom. At the workshop you will meet the I-PEEL team and the other participants. You will receive practical guidance on the next steps: from selecting your own research topics, to doing collaborative research, to presenting the results of your research, to publishing your I-PEEL essay with the Reinventions journal.
Please find the access details and the agenda of the workshop on our event page: hereLink opens in a new window.

3. Meet & Greet on campus. On the next day, Friday, 10 March 2023, you will meet up with the other participants from your university and with the I-PEEL team on campus. You will receive an invitation with further information regarding the time and the place of the meet & greet by email.

You will submit a first written draft by Monday, 3 April. During the week after, you will meet with your academic mentor, who will provide feedback on your written draft, and offer general guidance and advice on the project.
