Public service reform in Sierra Leone

This is a collaborative activity with the Institute of Governance and Public Management at the Warwick Business School. The aim of the project is to strengthen policy development and management capabilities within the public sector in Sierra Leone through training and capacity-building workshops for Ministers and senior civil servants public servants, focusing on growth-enhancing sectors such as tourism, agriculture and mining, infrastructure and social services, and the external sector in relation to trade and foreign exchange policies and financial services. The first phase of the project was completed in December 2007 and a second phase is now underway which also includes assistance in building institutional capacity and providing support for the Governance Reform Secretariat.
