Dominic McIver Lopes awarded a 2012 Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorship at Warwick

Professor Dominic McIver Lopes, Distinguished University Scholar and Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of British Columbia has been awarded a Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorship to spend January-June 2012 at Warwick. Professor Lopes is one of the leading aestheticians of his generation and president elect of the American Society of Aesthetics. His visit is sponsored by Dr. Diarmuid Costello and Dr. Eileen John. The focus of Prof. Lopes’s visit will be his book in progress, Beyond Art: The Foundations of Appreciation. Prof. Lopes will also be delivering a number of public “Leverhulme Lectures” at Universities around the UK, and participating in several workshops at Warwick on themes related to his work.
