Foundation Year Placements

Could your organisation benefit from the opportunity to work with Warwick Business School students?

Warwick Business School is seeking placements for students on its ground-breaking Foundation Year course.

The Foundation Year combines academic study with skills-based training, and has succeeded in raising the social mobility of dozens of students, the first of which graduated last summer.

Designed for students from non-traditional backgrounds, the Foundation Year builds business knowledge, improves key academic skills and allows young people to spend a year building their confidence to succeed in the University environment before progressing to degree-level study on the School’s top-ranked BSc Accounting & Finance or BSc Management.

Students are available for placements from Monday 4 May to Friday 29 May 2020 and are particularly interested in gaining experience in finance, accounting, marketing, human resources and management functions. They can provide a fresh perspective and work on specific short-term projects such as competitor research.

Hosting a student can help organisations meet their corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives and raise their profile at the University of Warwick to help recruit graduates.

Placements are currently being sought in the West Midlands and London and should be accessible by public transport with organisations covering students’ travel expenses.

All placements need to be arranged by Friday 10 April 2020. For more information about the Warwick Business School Foundation Year Course and providing a placement please contact:

Kantar TNS

“We really enjoyed hosting the Foundation Placement students at Kantar last year. All four of the students were extremely enthusiastic, engaged and made every effort to get involved in a variety of tasks and activities. They were keen to attend any training sessions and asked lots of relevant questions. The scheme was well organised which made it very easy to host the placements. Hosting the students also provided a good mentoring opportunity and a first experience of line management for some of our junior staff members”.
