Changes coming to WBS student mail.wbs accounts, Tuesday July 19th

Currently only a limited number of Google services are available via your mail.wbs account. Google is migrating all accounts to a new infrastructure that will allow you access to a much wider range of Google services including Picasa, Blogger and Reader.

Google have been rolling out the changes to pilot users for the last year but have now announced they will be migrating all accounts soon. This change will be applied to mail.wbs accounts on Tuesday July 19th.

What this means for you:

  • Access to many more Google products. You will now be able to use most Google products with your mail.wbs accounts. For a sample, see our list of products.
  • New sign in option. You can now sign in to Google services from the regular sign-in pages (like http://mail.google.com). Make sure to enter your full mail.wbs email address when signing in from these non-standard pages ( something like DL09XX@mail.wbs.ac.uk ). Learn more
  • Data ownership. All data contained in mail.wbs Google Apps accounts continues to be owned by WBS, and is subject to mail.wbs's terms and conditions. Learn more

Common issues:

  • Using multiple accounts. After the conversion, the process to sign in to multiple accounts simultaneously in your browser will change. Learn more
  • Offline support for certain Google products aren't currently available. Learn more
