Re-regulation for gender equality: from 'either or' to both

This article discusses changes in the ‘legislative package’ for gender equality since the late 1980s, and considers the extent to which the problems identified then have been tackled. These problems concerned the legislative provisions, the form of law and the institutions operating it, the principles and conceptualisations embodied in the legislative approach, and also relate to contextual fit.
