Biography

Lisa is professionally qualified (ICAEW), spent several years in audit practice with Deloittes and was part of the national audit training faculty at KPMG. Lisa specialises in designing and delivering modules on a range of topics related to financial reporting and audit, from basic financial literacy and bookkeeping courses to advanced courses on specialist topics such as the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Lisa also delivers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for qualified accountants, and has provided one-to-one coaching to senior finance professionals on specific matters impacting their role, often focussing on the implementation of IFRS.
Before joining Warwick Business School, Lisa was a Senior Teaching Fellow and Programme Director at Aston Business School. In 2015 Lisa was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in recognition of her excellence in teaching practice and commitment to building the development of professional skills and competencies into academic teaching.

Lisa has strong links with the accountancy professional bodies, and carries out external work for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Although Lisa is UK based, she has worked in accounting education in many countries in the EU and further afield in the Far East and in the Caribbean. Lisa has presented CPD courses globally, spending considerable time in Hong Kong and China.

Implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards, Professional Skills (focussing on competency frameworks), Accounting Education (focussing on innovation and gamification).
