The Accounting Group at Warwick Business School also undertakes research in the public sector in areas such as; Tax Administration, Health Care and Public Transport within and outside the United Kingdom. This area of research focuses on the processes by which accounting becomes part of everyday work across all levels within organisations, across organisations and in the development of new forms of performance measurement that challenge the knowledge and practices of traditional professions (e.g. doctors, nurses and accountants).

The research also traces how accounting work across the public and private sector and plays a key role in making new constellations, such as "Public Private Partnership's" (PPP) and "Private Finance Initiative's" (PFI) as a consequences of the introduction of 'New Public Management' as it challenges and changes traditional boundaries.
