Singapore FinTech Festival

From the 12-14 November, Ram Gopal and Yi Ding attended the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), the world's largest fintech gathering and a leading knowledge platform for the global ecosystem. Organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, The Global Finance & Technology Network, Constellar, and the Association of Banks in Singapore, EFF convened policymakers, industry leaders, investors and academics to explore the future of finance.

There were several though-provoking sessions, including a session on the rise of autonomous AI in banking warnings of voice mimicry, identity forgery and security challenges and the need to have dynamic safeguards to preserve customer trust in an agentic-AI world. A session on Tech Talent also explored AI-driven job redesign, cross-border talent mobility and capability development, offering actionable strategies for employers, individuals and policymakers to futureproof the fintech workforce.

The event provided great opportunities for networking which surfaced several potential collaborative opportunities including projects on financial inclusion in emerging economies, agentic AI commerce and blockchain for LLM applications. Connections were also made with the Singapore Management University, exploring programme-level collaboration and the National University of Singapore to understand shared research interests around AI and digital finance.
