I chose to pursue my PhD in Marketing at Warwick Business School because of the School’s exceptional research environment and the opportunity to be part of a vibrant and collaborative academic community. From the beginning, I have found WBS to be a place that genuinely nurtures both academic and personal growth. My supervisors have provided outstanding guidance, helping me shape my research ideas into rigorous and meaningful work. The Marketing Group’s supportive culture encourages open exchange, constructive feedback, and a strong sense of shared purpose. Regular seminars, workshops, and generous conference funding offer valuable opportunities to present research, engage with new ideas, and connect with leading scholars worldwide. These experiences continue to strengthen my skills and inspire me to grow further as a researcher.

MRes/PhD (Year 4) · Quantitative Marketing“A genuinely collaborative environment — professors and students root for each other, and you never feel siloed or working alone.”
The WBS PhD programme, and especially the Marketing Group, is filled with approachable professors, supportive coordinators, and students who root for each other, making it a genuinely collaborative environment. People are always willing to lend an ear or offer their perspectives, so you get insights from other domains that broaden the relevance of your own research. In that way, you never feel siloed or like you’re working alone. It’s a programme that really understands that one member’s success is everyone’s success.

PhD in Marketing (Year 4) · Quantitative Marketing“The collaborative supervisory culture and vibrant seminar/brownbag community have been invaluable to my academic journey.”
What I value most is the collaborative supervisory culture. Working with both senior and early-career faculty provides a perfect balance of experience and emerging perspectives simultaneously. The new PhD program design has dramatically improved the quality and frequency of our seminars and brown bag sessions, where we regularly engage with leading scholars and cutting-edge research. This vibrant intellectual community continues to be an invaluable part of my academic journey.

MRes/PhD (Year 4) · Consumer Behavior“Professors are supportive and approachable, and the group regularly hosts leading guest speakers — making it both engaging and inspiring.”
For me, one of the most valuable aspects of the MRes/PhD experience at the Marketing Group is that all the professors are very supportive and approachable. They are always happy to discuss research with us even if they might not be our supervisors. The research environment is also great, especially since we can apply for up to £2,000 of research funding each year to run our own studies. Our Marketing Group is very active, often inviting guest speakers — some of whom are editors of top journals — to give talks, meet with PhD students, and provide valuable feedback on our research. This really makes the group both engaging and inspiring.
