EUTOPIA Impact School 2024

We are pleased to announce a very special event for 30 young researchers from all over Europe: From September 9 to 13, 2024, 30 young researchers from the ten EUTOPIA partner universities will come together on the beautiful island of Schwanenwerder near Berlin for exclusive training and exchange at the EUTOPIA Impact School.

Are you a postdoc and would like to network internationally and learn how to make your research more visible? Then apply for a place in the EUTOPIA Impact School 2024! Together with young researchers from Paris, Barcelona, Gothenburg, Venice, Lisbon, Ljubljana, Cluj-Napoca, Brussels, Warwick and Dresden, you will take part in a specially designed training program on the topic of science communication.

In the inspiring surroundings of the historic conference villa of the Evangelischen Bildungsstätte on Schwanenwerder, located between Wannsee and Havel and surrounded by a listed park, you will have the opportunity to work on your own scientific texts, train presentation techniques and learn together with international scientists from various disciplines how to make your research visible and effective beyond your specialist community - "Dare to communicate complicated things in a simple way, think outside the box and make your research accessible!"

The Impact School 2024 is aimed at postdocs from all departments. Three exclusive places are reserved for each EUTOPIA partner university.

Every day, participants can expect exciting training and input on the topic of science communication.

  • Under professional guidance, you will work purposefully on your scientific texts and learn storytelling and presentation techniques.
  • You will train the necessary skills to present your research topic in a variety of academic and non-academic situations.
  • You will also have the opportunity to try out valuable rules for communicating with a broad audience and develop your solutions.
  • Finally, all participants create their pitch about their research projects and present it to the group.
  • In addition to the training sessions, free writing time is planned for participants to work on their articles and publications. Please bring mobile devices (laptops or tablets) and the necessary materials and texts.

Participation, accommodation and meals (full board) are free of charge for participants. Travelling to and from the event is at your own expense.
