International scholars for international talent
The International Strategy and Relations team manages the University's externally funded international scholarships.
We partner with external organisations such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office, foreign embassies and governments, employers, foundations and other funding bodies.
We attract the best, brightest and most diverse international students from across the world to our campus.
Welcoming Sponsors and Scholars
We oversee over 1,000 sponsored students funded by over 100 different international funding organisations and offer sponsors:
- Academic progress reporting
- Bespoke in-coming visits to campus
- Dedicated events for partner sponsors and their scholars

We have strong cross-cultural relationships with a number of foundations and organisations. Our scholars drive global change and below are a few examples.
British Council funded Women in STEM
We asked four Women in STEM climate scientists, from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, to share their experience of sponsorship.

Youth leader, activist, changemaker, Tedx Speaker, social entrepreneur and Warwick undergraduate, Sana Mittar, welcomed scholars at Albukhary Foundation event.

Women in STEM - Sponsor engagement

Welcome reception for Global Partnership Scholars
Our team arranges welcome events and celebrates the achievements of the scholars. In November 2022, Professor Chris Ennew OBE, Provost, and Professor Mike Shipman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) welcomed scholars from around the world to a reception and networking event.

We coordinate bids to generate additional funding opportunities for current and prospective students.
We meet with sponsors on campus, as well as attend meetings and events based in the UK and overseas. We arrange welcome events and celebrate the achievements of the scholars.
